CAMPAIGN

Campaign missions, stars and unlocks

Release documentation checked October 2, 2026. Source-based steps, not our own playtest; use the actual build and active mods for your save.

Finish the main objective to unlock the next mission

Open Campaign from the main menu. The official manual says finishing a mission unlocks the next, with one to three stars and a separate optional medal goal. Use the current objective prompt for the actual delivery target; extra stars and medals are not the same task as basic completion.

What to do

  1. Start with the available mission card, or resume its saved progress from the individual mission page. The first missions introduce mechanics progressively; do not assume every later mission is already unlocked.
  2. Read the main objective and separate its optional star or medal conditions. Keep those requirements visible before accepting a risky route, time limit or additional expense.
  3. For Mission 1, use Saving Mardi Gras's verified route and task counters. For Mission 3, use the oasis and truck-wear guide. The other mission summaries below identify goals; they are not complete route-by-route walkthroughs.
  4. After meeting the main objective, check the completion screen and next mission card. If progress disappears, first back up the user data and profile.lua; restoring a save is not automatically the same as restoring campaign-profile progress.

The eight mission goals

Saving Mardi Gras: restore the New Orleans festival; medal for subduing alligators quickly. Alpine Crossing: carry 300 passengers through the tunnel, with before-1924 and before-1923 star deadlines; medal for Zermatt skiers. Desert Adventure: complete excavations, lose fewer than 3 trucks for two stars or none for three. Biggest Festival Ever: start the concert with 500, 750 or 1000 attendees. Oil for the People: deliver the first 1,000 oil units before the rival. Island Expansion: finish 5, 8 or 12 subsidy contracts. Big City Problems: convince voters, with 4-year and 2-year star limits. Final Countdown: launch on time, with stricter budget-increase conditions for higher stars.

How to tell it worked

The completion screen records the achieved stars or medal and the next mission becomes available. Keep a backup of both valued saves and the campaign profile rather than treating an unlocked card as permanent backup.

If you are still stuck

Lost campaign profile: the official troubleshooting manual provides replacement profiles, including unlocked missions without medals. Preserve your current profile before considering one; it is a manual unlock/reset, not automatic recovery of your exact achievements. Precise Alpine debris routing and later mission collectibles need their own verified steps.
