LINES / EVEN DEPARTURES

Space vehicles with a minimum departure gap

Timetables version 1.0 author instructions checked 2026-10-19. Source-based guidance, not our own playtest; platform labels do not establish tested console behavior.

Choose Unbunch for the stop in Timetables

With Timetables enabled for this save, open its card in Line Manager or a line, station or vehicle window and select Edit. Choose the control stop and Unbunch mode, then set the intended minimum gap since the previous departure. The author describes this as platform-aware. Minimum wait instead holds each vehicle for a duration; it does not define the same gap between departures.

Set a control stop and observe departures

  1. Back up the save, install Timetables by IncredibleTrains through Mod Hub and enable it for that game. A subscription alone does not prove it is active in the loaded save.
  2. Open the intended line and find the Timetables card. Use Edit and choose the stop where you want to regulate departures. Pick a location with room to wait without blocking other services.
  3. Choose Unbunch and set a minimum departure gap suited to this line. Record the previous setting. The correct value depends on the service; there is no verified universal number of seconds.
  4. Observe successive departures at the controlled platform and then another circuit. Check the held vehicle's live departure time. Adjust the gap if waiting creates a queue or prevents useful service; do not change several stops at once.

Choose the mode for the result you need

ModeWhat it controls
UnbunchA minimum gap since the previous departure, considering the platform.
Minimum waitA minimum dwell time for each vehicle.
Arrival/Departure slotsScheduled slots claimed by individual vehicles; Autofill builds a cycle from frequency, stop time and start time.

Without the mod, the current game manual documents an additional wait after loading or unloading to help distribute vehicles evenly. That base-game setting is separate from the mod's Unbunch mode and explicit scheduled slots.

How to tell it worked

Vehicles leave the intended control point with the chosen separation and continue serving the line. Check actual departures rather than just a saved value. The author says schedules persist with the savegame; verify that you reopened the same save and that the expected stop rule is still present.

If vehicles still bunch or wait too long

No Timetables card: check activation in this save. Equal dwell but no useful gap: check that the mode is Unbunch rather than Minimum wait. Different platforms: inspect the platform-aware rule instead of assuming one shared departure clock. Delays elsewhere: fix blocked signals, junctions or slow loading; a timetable does not remove those bottlenecks.

Depart now is an override for a held vehicle, not proof that the spacing rule was repaired. Record the mod version, stop, platform and actual departure times if the rule appears wrong.
