MAC / DISPLAY AND INPUT

Mac mouse offset or part of the screen unreachable?

Community workaround checked 2026-10-15. Exact macOS and game build in the report are unknown; this is not our own playtest or a confirmed patch fix.

Try fullscreen, then hide with Cmd+H and return

A current Mac player reports that fullscreen works better than borderless, and Cmd+H followed by returning to TF3 restores a restricted cursor area for that session. This is a temporary workaround: it does not establish a fix for native resolution, tiny text or mouse acceleration.

Restore access before changing more settings

  1. Identify the symptom: the pointer is visible but cannot reach an edge, or clicks land away from the intended button. A completely missing pointer or a game that never opens needs a different diagnosis.
  2. Record your display mode, resolution and UI scale. Change the game from borderless to fullscreen and test the same previously unreachable controls. Keep a working setting rather than changing several options together.
  3. If the cursor area becomes restricted, press Cmd+H to hide TF3, then bring the game back to the foreground. The player specifically reports this sequence; Cmd+M and a three-finger desktop swipe did not work for them.
  4. Test a top-edge control and a lower corner, then check that clicking and pointer position agree. Repeat after a desktop switch; fullscreen may interfere with normal desktop gestures and shortcuts.
  5. If it works only until the next switch or restart, treat it as temporary. Save normally and keep a note of which action recreates the problem before reporting it to support.

How to tell it worked

The cursor reaches the formerly blocked area and activates the intended controls. A sharper picture alone is not enough. A separate Steam report describes missing native resolutions, a tiny cursor and ignored UI scaling on a notched Mac; it does not confirm that this workaround resolves all of those symptoms.

If fullscreen or Cmd+H does not help

Restore the last usable display mode. Send support your Mac model, macOS version, game build, display resolution, notch/external-display setup and exact reproduction steps. Include whether the cursor is absent, offset or trapped. No universal UI-scale value or permanent resolution fix has been verified here; do not apply another game's notch workaround as a TF3 instruction.
