What to do
- Check the official FAQ and current store features before choosing TF3 specifically to play together. No official server, lobby or co-op setup is established by those sources.
- If someone recommends a multiplayer mod, request the actual TF3 listing, supported build and installation instructions. A title, screenshot or a TF2 discussion is not proof of a working TF3 mod.
- Inspect the mod's requirements and platform support in the integrated Mod Hub. Do not install an unrelated archive or supply account credentials merely because a page says multiplayer is coming.
- For taking turns on a map, make a manual save backup and keep the build and mod list consistent. Passing a save between players is sequential play, with compatibility limits, rather than simultaneous multiplayer.

How to tell it worked
You know whether the proposed activity is solo play, sequential save sharing or a demonstrably working mod. Do not buy or install on the assumption that a future official co-op feature has a release date.
If you are still stuck
An article claims a launch multiplayer mode or a famous TF2 multiplayer mod but supplies no working source: treat the claim as unverified. Console save-sharing restrictions also differ from mod support; check the platform guidance before expecting a PC save to transfer.
